Filho de João Vana e Catarina Anes. Casado com Catarina Vicente. Teve pelo menos uma filha, a saber, Justa Vana. Cidadão de Lisboa, escudeiro e depois cavaleiro da Casa d’el Rei. Morador em Lisboa. A primeira referência a Gaspar Vana, datada de 1514, surge numa inquirição de testemunhas que mandou produzir para atestar a sua fidalguia e a do seu pai, identificando-se como fidalgo de cota de armas. A última referência data de 1544 e surge numa carta de emprazamento de umas propriedades pertencentes à capela de João Gil, que administrava em conjunto com a sua mulher. Já tinha falecido em 1545.
