Esta linha foi fundada no século XVI por Inês Figueira, filha de Diogo Gonçalves Salema e de Catarina Botelho, e Gonçalo Fernandes Sobrinho, seu marido. Os seus sucessores foram fidalgos da Casa d'el Rei e desempenharam ofícios próximos à Coroa. Em finais do século XVIII os representantes desta linha reivindicaram, com sucesso, a sucessão na administração de alguns dos vínculos dos Miranda Henriques, Condes de Sandomil. A linha extingui-se por falta de herdeiros na pessoa de José Maria Salema Lobo de Saldanha e Sousa Cabral e Paiva.
