Filho de Jorge de Figueiredo Correia e de Catarina de Alarcão.
Casou com Catarina de Castro.
Foi fidalgo da Casa Real, herdou o cargo de escrivão da Fazenda que, tal como seu pai e seu avô, veio a desempenhar. Em 1564 Rui de Figueiredo renunciou ao cargo de escrivão da Fazenda em troca da confirmação de nomeação para o seu filho, na donataria dos terrenos maninhos da vila da Covilhã.
Participou na batalha de Alcácer-Quibir onde veio a morrer.
Casou com Catarina de Castro.
